    We currently have an opening for a Transfer Care Specialist at Southwest Mortuary Services in Tucson, AZThis position oversees the transference of decedents from the place of death to the Decedent Care Center and from the Decedent Care Center to the place of memorial/service.

    Overview & Responsibilities:

    • Transfers the deceased from nursing homes, coroner offices, hospitals, or residences to the funeral home
    • Navigates local roads and highways in medium/heavy traffic and the dark using GPS or direction apps
    • Receives instructions for multiple tasks, determines the ideal order for the tasks, and completes them promptly
    • Assists Team Members by filling in for funeral attendants and full-time staff shifts, and covering hearse driving as needed
    • Ensures proper paperwork is completed timely and in accordance with relevant laws and regulations
    • Interacts with customers and family members of the decedent, handling inquiries and directing them according to specific needs, i.e., upon arrival and departure for transfer of the decedent
    • Supports staffing to meet business needs, onboarding and training of new hires as needed
    • Carries out other projects and duties as assigned, i.e., car washing, building and equipment repair, laundry, building boxes, and cremation containers
    • Manages deliverables; organizes and coordinates workflow, manages multiple tasks, and projects
    • Learns to operate new office technologies as they are developed and implemented
    Requirements & Qualifications:
    • Must be 21 years or older
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to work an on-call shift, no regular hours, and must be available for nights and weekends as needed
    • Ability to follow detailed instructions and receive/apply constructive feedback with a positive attitude
    • Professional appearance and dress
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Maintains composure in challenging situations with compassion and kindness
    • Ability to lift more than 100lbs safely
    • Valid state-issued drivers license with a clear driving record
