- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience working as an interpreter in an educational setting preferred
- Ability to effectively interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and other school staff
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the student and school community
- Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation for a student in the general education 4th grade classroom
- Facilitate communication between the student and their peers, teachers, and other school staff
- Ensure that the student has full access to educational content and social interactions
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
- Provide consultative minutes with a high school student as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Adhere to the school's policies and procedures related to student support services

We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in Richmond, IL for the NSY This full-time position involves providing 1:1 support for a student in the general education 4th grade classroom. The interpreter will facilitate communication between the student and their peers, teachers, and other school staff. Additionally, there will be consultative minutes with a high schooler as part of the role.
