- Develop and execute a written strategic communication plan (the plan) to enable API to promote and defend the API mission and programs in an era of competing requirements and resource constraints.
- Support media engagements and inquiries of API in cooperation with OSD Public Affairs and OUSD(A&S).
- Support API speaking engagements
- Support APIs social media presence on LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
- Work with the government - furnished web content developer to ensure the API web page is up to date and reflects the priorities of leadership and the Strategic Communications plan.
- Coordinate updates to handbooks in collaboration with API staff experts
- Support the Chief of Staff with API operations including task tracking, technical reviews of materials, strategic guidance and programmatic recommendations, and calendar tracking to ensure API is meeting deadlines.
- Develop reports, information papers, presentation material, speeches, talking points, and prepare drafts of official correspondence
- Minimum SECRET Clearance.
- Ability to coordinate legislative analysts, ensure quality support, and assign tasks within the team according to government priorities.
- Experience working on the Hill or in congressional relations
- Familiarity with OUSD(A&S) staff and structure
- Familiarity with DoD organizational structure in general and Office of the Secretary of Defense in particular as evidenced by regular interaction with components across DoD.
- Ability to present information in the form of written and verbal summaries.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and in small teams in a high operational tempo under strict time constraints.
- Ability to use tools such as Adobe Acrobat Professional, A&S Intranet and SharePoint sites, DoD Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS)

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION The analyst will support the OUSD(A&S) Acquisition Policy and Innovation (API) Directorate
This subject matter expert will provide skilled communication expertise with the needed interpersonal skills, knowledge of the DoD organizational structure, and an established network of relationships with other subject matter experts within DoD, the Federal Government, and Industry to support strategic communications for the API
Update and maintain the API Communications Standard Operating Procedures,
Ensure materials are appropriately screened for release to audience.
