    Hamar Laser is currently seeking an onsite Senior Mechanical Engineer that will be responsible for designing, developing and testing new laser alignment products and training production techs on how to build them.

    We are looking for someone with a "can-do" attitude with hands-on optical and mechanical engineering experience to ensure our product designs are intuitive and easy to build.


    The ideal candidate will:

    • Have 10+ years in mechanical engineering, designing and testing new products. Experience with optics a big plus.
    • Have a degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
    • Possess excellent mechanical design skills using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
    • Possess good experience with designing, fabricating, testing and implementing new products.
    • Be very familiar with standard engineering concepts, practices, and procedures and how to generate drawings for machine shops to fabricate the parts.
    • Ability to QC newly designed parts to high degree of accuracy.
    • Significant experience interfacing with electronic engineers and integrating PCB's into designs. A good understanding of electronic engineering concepts and functionality is a plus.
    • Experience with laser alignment or calibration systems a big plus
    • Have a persistent can-do personality and be willing to do what it takes solve the problem and get the job done.
    • Good working knowledge of machining centers, lathes, grinders and similar machinery a plus
    • Be an experienced user of the entire Microsoft Office and Windows suite of programs.
    • Must be able to work independently with little supervision, be confident and a self-starter.
