    Job Summary


    As the Strategic Marketing Consultant supporting UCSF Health's growing community network, you will research, develop and implement strategic marketing plans that build preference and drive volume in support of business goals.

    You will apply your expert knowledge to prepare and present ideas and plans on a regular basis and collaborate with clinical leaders to ensure alignment.


    This position serves as a key member of the UCSF Health marketing department, which is responsible for brand building and strategic business growth.

    Assignments are complex and require a high degree of technical marketing acumen, strategic thinking, and relationship management.

    The Successful Candidate Will

    Manage marketing strategy for assigned hospital, service line, outpatient facility, and physician foundation entities to achieve growth goals and support community network expansion
    Develop trusted relationships with internal and external business partners to ensure alignment and successful execution of marketing plans to identified business priorities
    Research, develop, implement, and report on strategic marketing plans
    Have experience developing and implementing precision marketing campaigns and using CRM platforms
    Implement, track and report key success metrics (ROI) for marketing campaigns
    Pursue competitive analysis and market research to apply best practices based on strategic insights and market intelligence
    Collaborate with colleagues in strategic marketing, digital marketing, marketing technology and operations, physician outreach, and communications to ensure integrated and coordinated marketing efforts
    Write creative briefs that demonstrate strategic acumen and which inspire creative and campaign teams to deliver impactful, engaging campaigns
    Possess a thorough understanding of the marketplace and issues facing healthcare
    Present plans and results to key stakeholder groups
    Serve a prominent representative of the UCSF Health brand
    Perform other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, health administration or related field
    Seven or more years of experience in strategy, communications or marketing positions, including experience managing complex relationships
    Five or more years of experience in successfully planning, implementing and reporting on marketing programs that produce results against business objectives
    Strong skills in relationship management, marketing, effectively organizing resources and setting and establishing priorities
    Strong interpersonal communication and political acumen skills
    Excellent market research, analytical, and problem recognition, avoidance and resolution skills
    Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task multiple priorities and projects on-time and on budget
    Flexible and solution-oriented with ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Health care experience is essential

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master's degree in business administration, marketing, health administration or related field
    Concentration/specialization in marketing analytics, digital marketing and CRM
    Agency experience is a plus
