    Job Description

    Operate a Numerical-Control Machine to Set Up and Perform Precision Drilling Operations

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review setup instructions and specifications for accuracy.
    • Load control media or enter commands to retrieve programmed control data.
    • Position and secure the workpiece on the indexing table of the machine.
    • Enter commands to activate the machine, which will automatically align the workpiece and perform precision drilling operations.
    • Monitor machine operation and display readouts to detect malfunctions.
    • Compare display data to specifications and notify supervisors of any issues.
    • Inspect and measure workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and replacing drill bits.

    Requirements:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying problems and providing solutions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Mastery of mathematical concepts, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios.
    • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and other computer applications.
    • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds and stand for extended periods.
    • Work in a factory setting with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.

    Physical Demands:

    • Constantly: standing, walking, using legs/arms to climb, sitting, stooping, lifting up to 65 pounds, repetitive twisting or pressure involving wrists/hands, repetitive finger movement, using both hands, stooping, using both legs, repeatedly bending, communicating orally, operating truck/motor vehicle, hearing conversation.
    • Frequently: carrying up to 75 pounds, pulling hand over hand, pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds, balancing, kneeling, specific visual requirements, crawling, use of depth perception, reaching at high or low level, rapid mental/muscular coordination simultaneously.
    • Occasionally: use of color vision, working conditions (work shift between 8-12 hours, work in heat between 90-100 degrees, work with machinery with moving parts, exposure to constant noise above 85 dB, work with moving vehicles, exposure to dust, work with ladders/scaffolding, exposure to gases).

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    • Constantly: safety footwear, safety glasses.
    • Frequently: gloves, hearing protection.
    • Occasionally: body protection, respirator.
