    Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

    The Early College Research Center conducts and synthesizes research relative to the early college model. The Center is housed within SERVE, which does educational research and development work.

    Position Summary

    This position will be involved in research and evaluation activities, with a primary content focus on early college, but may include other educational reform areas as well. This is a potentially hybrid position to be housed either in Durham NC or Browns Summit, NC with the option to work remotely part of the time. Travel for data collection, meetings, and conferences is required.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • A doctorate in Applied Research, Experimental Research, Educational Research, or Program Evaluation or a related field or a Master's degree in Applied Research, Experimental Research, Educational Research, or Program Evaluation or a related field with a minimum of 3 years experience as a researcher or evaluator.
    • Experience with analytic techniques used in quasi-experimental and experimental impact studies, such as regression, multilevel modeling, regression discontinuity, comparative interrupted time series, and power analyses.
    • Experience with mixed methods and qualitative data collection.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
    • Experience in managing/conducting research or evaluation studies.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • A strong sense of personal initiative with a willingness to develop new projects.
    • Ability to work with organizational partners in different settings.
    • Knowledge, skills, and/or experience working in racially, culturally, and/or linguistically diverse education settings.
    • Experience with computer coding and data visualization software such as Tableau or similar software.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with educators.
