- Design, analysis, fabrication and implementation of mechanical systems. Emphasis on implementing technical integration of subsystems e.g. electrical, infrastructure, controls and mechanical.
- Use in-depth engineering knowledge and skills to complete the following tasks.

- developing and executing testing of components and assemblies
- Support FPD systems project planning, costing and scheduling.
- Implement execution of engineering milestones on projects.
- Working with the technical staff to gain knowledge from their years of experience and skill set.
- Develop all SLAC WPC (Work Planning and Control) documentation for your projects.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, physics or related science and engineering discipline and minimum of two years of experience or a engineering graduate degree in the followings:
- Design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of hardware systems, including executing multidisciplinary system integration and test plans.
- Application of engineering best practices and project management, including creating requirements specifications, developing cost estimates and project schedules.
- One or multiple relevant fields: ultra-high vacuum (UHV), cryogenic, RF cavity, magnet design, mechanisms
- CAD and CAE software, PYTHON or other control software
- Collaborating within cross-functional teams
- Ability to interpret and apply fundamental theories, concepts, and practices within a field of specialty.
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary to collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to prepare and give presentations at discipline-specific or project meetings.
- Ability to conduct effective and timely communications with administrative and/or functional leads.
