    We have an opportunity at our Martinez Refinery in California and are seeking a talented Wastewater Treatment Engineer to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy.

    As a Wastewater Treatment Engineer at Martinez Refining Company, you will be responsible for supporting the design, operation, and maintenance of our wastewater treatment systems, ensuring the efficient and environmentally responsible management of wastewater generated by our refining processes.

    You will work in a dynamic environment with a dedicated team, helping us achieve our environmental goals and regulatory compliance.


    Job Responsibilities May Include:

    Design, implement, and optimize wastewater treatment processes to ensure the efficient removal of contaminants, including oil, chemicals, and solids.

    Perform routine monitoring and analysis of wastewater treatment processes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

    Develop and implement strategies for improving the performance and efficiency of wastewater treatment systems, including the reduction of energy consumption and waste production.

    Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to the wastewater treatment systems, minimizing downtime and environmental impact.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including environmental specialists, maintenance personnel, and regulatory agencies, to ensure proper reporting and compliance with permits.

    Participate in the development and maintenance of environmental impact assessments and sustainability reports.

    Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in wastewater treatment to enhance system performance and reduce the environmental footprint.

    Train and mentor junior engineers and operators involved in wastewater treatment operations.
    Provide support for non-routine events including turnarounds, maintenance, troubleshooting, and projectsSupport the change management process through evaluation of operational and equipment modificationsInterface with internal departments and external resources to provide unit support and identify opportunities

    Position Specific Requirements:
    Candidate must have active TWIC card or be able to obtain a TWIC card.

    STEM degree OR equivalent experience in a refinery

    Preferred Qualifications:
    B.S.

    The salary range for this position is $97, $172, The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law.
