    Description

    Purpose:
    Responsibilities within Process Control and Digitalization include designing, testing, and implementing software applications for new and existing manufacturing processes.

    In addition, taking personal responsibility of developed applications to ensure customer needs are met while maintaining a safe work environment.


    Essential Functions:
    Develop and debug software tools to be used in production
    Evaluate and select appropriate instrumentation
    Design, program, and integrate systems to perform measurement, control, and inspection functions
    Install systems that meet specifications and project requirements for budget and timing
    Assist in the development of specifications, budgets, and project plans
    Manage contractors and external suppliers to deliver functional systems that meet required specifications
    Provide control engineering assistance to troubleshoot/improve manufacturing systems
    Provide written and verbal project communication to various functional areas and levels
    Develop technical and procedural documentation, provide training to manufacturing personnel
    Evaluate existing systems and modify as appropriate to improve performance and suitability to task, and to lower cost
    Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles
    Other duties as assigned by manager

    Qualifications Required:
    Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer science engineering or engineering technology with 0-3 years of experience
    Strong computer programming experience (C/C++, sql, scripting languages)
    Strong interpersonal and communications skills
    Strong computer and industrial network skills
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    Understanding of statistics and data analysis
    Good problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
    Able to work independently as well as member of project teams
    Average of 15% travel, including extended periods on project sites


    Qualifications Desired:
    Experience with LabView software
    Experience with database architecture and scripting (MSSQL or similar)
    Experience with web pages / web server programming
    SCADA experience (A-B)
    PLC programming skills (A-B family of PLCs)
    Experience with vision system applications
    Understanding of quality systems, Measurement Systems Analysis, and R&R
