This individual will lead a team and work with the creative director to build a dress line that is reflective of the creative vision of Ralph Lauren while pushing the aesthetic in a fresh and current direction.

The candidate must be a positive, team player who will collaborate with talented designers and cross-functional partners in the business.

• Work with the Creative Director to define the soft dressing aesthetic for Women's Polo.
• Lead intensive soft dressing research to present to the Creative Director including vintage and modern shopping as well as tear and material research
• Lead the soft dressing team to create sketches and product prototypes throughout the conceptual design process.
• Create design flats, pattern layouts, tech packs, embellishment artworks using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Partner with senior management to refine designs, materials, trim, and color palettes for each season
• Build and update design presentation boards and lead the preparation for meetings
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Product Development on regular basis. Participate in meetings with cross-functional category partners.

• Must be a collaborative, team player with great initiative
• Bachelor's Degree in Design or related field preferred
• Experience designing Women's RTW / Dresses
• Ability to build Tech Pack & Artwork of embellishment
• Ability to sketch both technical drawings and freeform renderings
• Extensive knowledge of garment construction, including pattern making, sewing and heavy draping and 3D
• Proven ability to sketch, spec, drape, embroidery, embellishment and communicate silhouette and ideas clearly
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Understanding of materials, hardware, leather required
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel #LI-CE1
