    Oncology Infusion Pharmacist - Newton, MA

    Position Overview: As an integral member of our pharmacy team, you will ensure the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceuticals within the specialized field of oncology or sterile compounding. Collaborating closely with healthcare providers, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing drug therapy and patient care, ensuring each individual receives the highest quality treatment possible.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the preparation, compounding, and dispensing of medications for oncology patients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
    • Verify medication orders and assess patient profiles to prevent adverse drug interactions or reactions.
    • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for oncology patients.
    • Provide clinical support and guidance to pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and consultations to review patient cases and make recommendations for therapy adjustments or interventions.
    • Stay current with developments in oncology pharmacy practice and incorporate evidence-based guidelines into daily practice to enhance patient outcomes.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum of 5 years of hospital pharmacy or sterile compounding experience, with at least 4 years focused specifically in oncology.
    • Completion of a relevant residency program is preferred, demonstrating advanced training and expertise in oncology pharmacy practice.
    • Must possess or be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Massachusetts.
