    Description

    An Assistant/Associate/Professor of Nursing for the nurse anesthesia program is a graduate faculty member who is responsible for the education of nurse anesthesia program students, the development of the College of Nursing's graduate programs, and the advancement of his/her professional development.

    Job Purpose

    This position is responsible for teaching anesthesia-specific content and course management of designated coursework in the plan of study. All teaching should incorporate evidence-based practice principles into the content taught. The role requires demonstrated knowledge, competence, and experience in the nurse anesthesia specialty. For at least three years of direct patient care as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA).

    Requirements
    • Certification as a CRNA through NBCRNA.
    • Three years of clinical experience providing direct patient care as a CRNA.
    • Earned a doctoral degree in nursing or appropriate discipline from an accredited institution.
    • Holds a current, active, unencumbered NV RN & CRNA license.
    • Knowledge of CRNA practice and professional issues.
    • Teaching experience at the postsecondary level is preferred.
