    Seeking a detail-oriented and organized Benefits Assistantto join our team. The Benefits Assistant will be responsible for processingleave of absences, managing disability programs, and assisting with benefitsadministration.

    This position serves as a liaison between employees,management, Health Services, and the HR department to ensure the smoothcoordination of employee work restrictions, ADA accommodations, and employeebenefit plans.

    Compensation: $ 55,000

    Responsibilities:

    Manage and track the leave of absence (LOA)process for both union and non-union employees, collaborating with management,health services, and payroll as needed.

    Send necessary paperwork to employees, processclaims, and track time off for various types of LOA, including WorkersCompensation, FMLA, Maternity/Paternity Leave, Unpaid Leaves, and Disability.

    Complete disability forms and process claims forthe Disability Program at the Medical Center.

    Manage employee intermittent leaves, providingemployees and management with reports and data on usage.

    Monitor and track the employee portion of healthbenefit premiums during unpaid leaves of absence.

    Correspond with employees and management tonotify them of key dates and milestones during the leave of absence, and createsituation-specific letters regarding time-off requests, terminations, etc.

    Ensure timely and efficient submission ofsensitive documents to internal and external clients.

    Act as the point person for employees withinquiries about leave of absences.

    Update employees' timecards and calculate properpaycheck deductions for employees during leave periods.

    Establish FMLA claims, track and codedocumentation according to internal workflow processes.

    Maintain employee LOA files and ensure dataintegrity.

    Create, maintain, and distribute data andreports on leave of absences.

    Stay up-to-date on state and federal regulationsconcerning leaves of absence and disability accommodations, and makerecommendations to management regarding process and workflow improvement.

    Assist the department with benefitsadministration, including assisting employees in filling out paperwork fortheir benefits packages and resolving problems or disputes regarding benefitprovisions.

    Qualifications:

    Associate's Degree in HR, Business, or a relatedfield, or equivalent experience required.

    Minimum of one (1) year of experience in HumanResources/Benefits, preferably in a hospital setting.

    Minimum of one (1) year of experience with leaveadministration, including ADA accommodations and benefits administrationpreferred.

    Familiarity with leave of absence policies,FMLA, ADA, and other relevant regulations.

    Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability tolearn new software systems quickly.
