    Job Summary


    PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
    Responsible to serve beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction


    RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:

    • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a function basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce.
    • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality.
    • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
    • Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.
    • Verifies validity of charges in order to balance all transactions by following all cash handling procedures.
    • Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.
    • Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
    • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time.
    • Requires the ability to lift and carry object weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Standing for 90 % of work shift is required.
    • Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking. Considerable repetitive motion of hands and wrists as pertaining to pouring of drinks from bottles and shakers.

    SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
    • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
    • Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
    • Ability to remember, recites, and promotes the variety of menu items.
    • Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
    • Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekday evenings, weekends and holidays

    EDUCATION REQUIRED:

    • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Two years' previous experience providing customer service preferably in a similar setting with a working knowledge of Spirits, Wine, Beer and Food service.
    • .Knowledge of drink service and bar terminology.

    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

    • Food Handlers Certification, State specific alcohol certification and TIPs certification required. Terms of employment . Part time
