- Identify customer needs and drivers both technically and financially and collaborate with the program teams through customer assessments, proposal development and the delivery of effective communications
- Independently and collaboratively, develop solutions to complex problems based on customer needs and requirements
- Configure, operate, and effectively interpret results from test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, and LAN and WAN test sets
- Develop strategies and options to address requirements
- Analyze and interpret technical products including gain grids, contour maps, link budgets, sun outages, etc
- Perform feasibility analysis to develop value for customer solutions
- Learn new communications technologies and apply as needed to resolve problems
- Develop and maintain trusting and collaborative technical customer relationships, both internally and externally
- 15 or more years related work experience with a majority related to technical and engineering solutions in US Government market for COMSATCOM solutions
- At least 10-years relevant experience in communication system development, satellite ground segment, and/or system integration, experience in capacity management and/or systems engineering and/or other engineering functions
- A degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering OR demonstrated experience
- Knowledge on the specifications and differences between various satellite frequency bands (L, C, Ku-band, etc.) and the qualities of on each signal band in various applications
- Advanced knowledge of digital network communications and RF signal theory and digital satellite network architectures, in-depth knowledge of VSAT networks and platforms and network protocols
- Demonstrated experience responding to and complying with Federal solicitations and RFIs
- Established relationships with government SATCOM program offices (e.g.
- Prior military experience or experience working directly for federal government agencies
- Hands on experience in deploying satellite systems

Responsibilities Peraton is currently hiring a solutions engineer within the Federal Government arena with a focus on Commercial Satellite Communications (COMSATCOM)
The COMSATCOM engineer as part of a program team and will support a government client in developing COMSATCOM solutions to meet mission needs and integrate these solutions into an overall communications architecture
The engineer should have a proven ability to work in the Federal space, particularly DoD and Intelligence Community
It is important that the candidate have established contacts and relationships within the commercial satellite communications community and the government client community
