Responsibilities include reporting to institutional leaders, managing staff issues, overseeing therapy disciplines, scheduling providers, collaborating with other divisions, fostering interest in burn surgery, supervising fellows, determining wound closure options, and managing a burn foundation.
Burn/Plastics Surgery:
In the Burn Division, ensuring quality healthcare services for both outpatient and inpatient patients is paramount. This includes accurate and timely medical record documentation and providing billing information as needed.
Oversight of nursing staff, medical students, and resident physicians during patient interactions is crucial, along with active participation in surgical research.
Delivering lectures to medical students and residents, attending departmental conferences, and adhering to safety protocols are all integral aspects of this roleThe role entails offering pediatric surgical and trauma call coverage at University Medical Center on a 14-day on/14-day off rotation.
While on service, responsibilities include delivering pediatric in-hospital surgical services and conducting consultations in a clinic located on the University Medical Center campus.
Teaching surgical residents and medical students is also a key aspect of the position.Join as a faculty member in the Surgery Department, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows while providing patient care and conducting clinical research.
This role includes prescribing medications and treatment plans tailored to the patient's medical condition, and utilizing specialists and referrals as needed.
Additionally, the position entails training and supervising residents and medical students, overseeing the daily operations of medical programs or units, and coordinating patient care activities.
