    This role will be senior most accounting support for the Wallingford manufacturing facility.

    Nationality RequirementsCandidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.


    Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:


    Assists the Accounting Controller with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance DepartmentPerform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer's benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expensesAssist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performancePrepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from department.

    Analyses information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information.
    Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts.
    Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
    Supports accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry.
    Regularly maintains detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
    Prepares documentation for external auditors.
    Daily reconciliation of cash flows and verification of bank balances.
    Performs monthly bank settlements.
    Maintenance of Project CostingPerforms all other duties as required, requested, or needed.


    Required Skills:
    Bachelor's degree; accounting or finance a plus3+ years of experience managing transactional accounting tasks in a public or privately held organizationExperience with journal entries, monthly and year end closeMust be proficient in ExcelThis position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization

    Desired Skills:
    Knowledge of GAAP accounting principlesPrevious experience completing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsStrong analytical skills with particular attention to detailDetail oriented with strong time management and organizational skillsFamiliar working with manufacturing environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to changeAbility to interact and communicate with multiple levels of the organizationExcellent teamwork skillsExperience in financial reporting systems (Costpoint, Visibility or Epicor a plus)
