    Job Description

    We are currently working with an engineering design and consulting company in Charlotte, NC to find a Landscape Architecture / Planning Department Manager. Please take a look at the following details and let us know if you would like to proceed.

    Essential Skills for the Landscape Architecture / Planning Department Manager:

    • Must hold a registered Landscape Architect, Professional Engineer, or Certified Planner license.
    • 8+ years of experience in Land Planning / Landscape Architecture.
    • Ability to manage clients and engage in business development.
    • No more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years.

    Roles and Responsibilities of the Landscape Architecture / Planning Department Manager:

    • Lead and guide the Landscape Architecture and Planning team in the Charlotte studio.
    • Oversee design development, contract documents, client relations, and staff mentoring.
    • Contribute to projects like master planned developments, urban sites, residential areas, and mixed-use projects.
    • Collaborate with clients on planning and site development.
    • Present to Public officials and Planning boards.
    • Focus on business development, marketing, and project financials.

    Expectations from the Leader/Manager:

    • Handle clients and business development tasks.
    • Create proposals/contracts and represent clients in public settings.
    • Promote a positive work environment.

    Requirements for the Landscape Architecture / Planning Department Manager:

    • Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, or Civil Engineering preferred.
    • Professional registration as a Landscape Architect, Certified Planner, or Professional Engineer.
    • 8+ years of relevant experience with a diverse portfolio.
    • Strong background in land development design and technical skills.
    • Proficiency in design software and Microsoft Office.
    • Strong communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
    • Experience with local codes, ordinances, and business development.
    • Proven track record of client relationship management and staff mentoring.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Position is based in the office.
    • No sponsorships or Visa holders.
