Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CT Technologist with strong experience in both CT and Xray imaging and skills in Epic and IV starts for a night shift role.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care imaging center covering both CT and Xray on overnight shifts
• Patient population includes emergency, urgent care, and occasional pediatric cases
• Typical studies include code strokes, head/chest/abdomen/pelvis/spine, and 3D reconstructions
• No cardiac CT procedures or fluoroscopy required during nights
• Department uses 1 Siemens CT scanner, 3 Xray units (2 rooms, 1 portable), and Carestream for portables
• Approximately 30 scans per shift, with 2 technologists working overnight
• Shifts are 12 hours, 8:00 pm to 8:00 am, Friday through Sunday nights
• Charting completed in Epic; PACS is McKesson
• Floating required between CT and Xray within department as staffing and patient needs require
• Backup call responsibilities on a rotating basis with 30-minute response time
• Scrubs provided in standard OR blue
• Duties include performing CT and Xray studies, starting IVs, and providing imaging for urgent care and emergency patients
• Work closely with another technologist during overnight shifts and coordinate care for both modalities
• Remote radiologist support is available, with in-person provider presence on selected days
• Must be comfortable with provider communication using Volt phone system
• Department orientation includes at least 2 day shifts prior to starting nights
• Must be available to work some weekends and holidays as scheduled
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed
• Returning permanent employees must be gone for at least one year before being eligible for travel assignment

Requirements

• Current ARRT (CT) and ARRT (R) required
• Active BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a CT Technologist
• Experience with Epic charting and IV starts required
• Experience working with stroke/CVA patients required
• Siemens equipment experience preferred
• No first-time travelers will be considered for this assignment
• Must submit two professional references, one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
• Copy of driver's license and active state license required if applicable
• Must not reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
