    Job Description

    Job DescriptionThe Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in the hospital's diagnostic imaging department, using specialized equipment to capture internal images of patients for use in diagnosing and treating diseases. This role requires a strong foundation in patient care, technical expertise, and safety protocols.

    Responsibilities
    • Perform radiologic examinations (X-ray, CT scan, MRI, etc.) according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
    • Position patients and operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
    • Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation safety regulations and minimizing radiation exposure.
    • Educate patients about the imaging procedures and answer their questions in a reassuring manner.
    • Maintain sterile and sanitary examination rooms.
    • Document patient care and imaging procedures in the electronic medical record.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
    • May administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
    • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
    Qualifications
    • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
    • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography or a specific modality (X-ray, CT, MRI, etc.) is preferred.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting (preferred).
    • Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Physical stamina to lift and position patients.
