    National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum (NAPAWF) is the only organization focused on building power with AAPI women and girls to influence critical decisions that affect our lives, our families and our communities.     NAPAWF was founded in 1996 to realize the vision of 100 AAPI women who recognized the need for an organization that would amplify AAPI womens stories and experiences. Being seen and heard in the public narrative gives us the power to shape the policy and cultural change needed to gain agency over our lives, families, and communities. Today, we mobilize and build power across the United States to create social, political, and economic change for AAPI women and girls.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Reporting to the CDO, the Development Associate provides administrative support to the NAPAWF Development team. With the team, this position helps to inform the organizations fundraising strategies and coordinates tasks to execute those strategies. Additionally, they acknowledge and process donations, maintain donor records, and provide stewardship to those donors. This position plays a key role in the success of the team achieving fundraising goals.

    POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Development Associates duties such as data entry, managing the CRM, sending donor acknowledgements, and assisting with tracking timelines for grant proposals and reports. Responsibilities include:

    • Track, monitor, and maintain donor database (EveryAction) that provides information to cultivate long, thoughtful donor relations
    • Establish, update and maintain integrity of donor records in donor database
      • Process gifts and produce acknowledgment letters within 48 hours of receiving gifts
      • Track and update existing acknowledgement letters as requested by CDO
    • Create and run reports in a presentable manner that helps determine next steps and/or creates donor reports as requested by the CDO
    • Maintain accurate records and reports to provide excellent stewardship by:
      • Implementing activities for welcoming new donors and recurring donors
      • Managing donor gifts as intended
      • Updating development team and/or donors on the progress and impact of gifts as requested
    • Coordinates between development and operations/finance staff to ensure revenue is received and recorded
    • Assists in audit compliance as requested by CDO
    • Amplify NAPAWFs presence by providing support for fundraising events
    • Provide logistical support for fundraising events, including creating and maintaining guest lists and RSVP lists
    • Effectively communicate with vendors, participants, NAPAWF staff and contractors for merchandise and print mailings
    • Prioritize and organize tasks to ensure timely progress of events
    • Follow up with funders, corporate partners, and donors on pledges with invoice creation and ensuring that pledges are received.
    • Track and process bills related to events and keep Senior Director of Development informed of progress
    • Maintain and steward their own donor portfolio as assigned by the CDO. Activities could include regular touch points to donors (emails, phone calls, reports), making asks, updating ongoing communications, and increasing donor giving capacity.
    • Participate in staff calls/meetings.
    • Performing duties, as necessary, as a member of the NAPAWF team.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2 years of prior experience with development work or a relevant role.
    • Demonstrated success in maintaining detailed records, managing databases, and managing multiple competing demands, experience with database management software is a plus.
    • Proficiency with data entry, running complex queries, and sorting and filtering data
    • Experience working with a diverse staff, Ability to collaborate with a high functioning, multi-racial workforce

    SALARY & BENEFITS

    The salary for this position is $52,000 commensurate with experience. A highly competitive benefits package includes a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance. NAPAWF's medical plan is covered by NAPAWF at 100% for employees and dependents with no out-of-pocket costs, including visits, tests, and prescription drugs costs. Qualified dependents may also be covered. NAPAWF also offers 16 days of vacation in the first year, sick leave, flexible spending program options, and personal/family leave, as well as paid vacation between December 25th and January 1st of each year.

    This position is expected to be 40% to 60% at the office.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This position is based in an office setting and requires regularly being able to sit or stand and perform computer-based work, occasional lifting and travel may be required.
