    Description

    Sanitation technicians carry the responsibility of Janitorial for all sites at California Natural Products. Completion of tasks within the Master Sanitation Schedule, and any emergency needs within all sites. Work is primarily conducted in a production environment with those types of hazards associated; seasonal temperature fluctuations, hot pipes, working with chemicals, slip trip hazards, and high noise areas. All Sanitation Technicians report to Sanitation leads and the Sanitation Supervisor who is ultimately carrying the responsibility of all sites.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Janitorial - cleaning restroom - toilets - sinks - walls - floors - dumping garbage - refilling toiletries
    • Operating mobile foamer unit and hot hose. Operating mobile sanitizer unit.
    • Chemical handling - Industrial-style detergents and sanitizers.
    • Drain sanitation - Trench drains weave inside and outside the facility. All are the responsibility of sanitation techs. - scrubbing action required.
    • Use of proper tools for tasks - Follow the color code policy - Forklift training may be needed - Aerial lift training may be needed
    • Facility MSS tasks - Yellow employee walkways and rails - Floors - Use of the floor scrubber (walk behind and drivable) -
    • Parking lot - Garbage cans - debris pickup
    • Environmental Monitoring program - Addressing, managing, and preventing of Listeria and Salmonella within the facility.
    • Any, and all tasks assigned by Lead or Sanitation Supervisor.
    Requirements

    Education and/or Experience:
    • Minimum of a high school diploma.
    • Those that have experience in Industrial sanitation work experience preferred, but not required.
    • General knowledge of Chemical safety and Chemical handling is preferred.
    • Experience in working with forklifts, and aerial lifts are preferred, but not required.

    Equipment Operated:
    • Forklifts
    • Aerial lift, and scissor lifts.
    • Floor scrubbers.
    • Foamers.
    • Hot hose.
    • Pressure washer.
    • Fogging backpack - or mobile unit.
    • Sprayers. Chemical.
    Physical Activity:
    • Regularly reach with hands/arms, walk, and move about.
    • Frequently climb, squat, bend, kneel, sit, and stand.
    • Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull 25 lbs or more.
    Additional Compensation - Bonus Potential: You will be eligible to participate in the Gehl Food & Beverage Bonus Program for non-exempt employees. Under this Program, quarterly and annual bonus payouts are based on achievement of targeted production numbers. Gehl Foods, LLC reserves the right to change the Bonus Program at anytime, without notice.

    Working Conditions: Frequently exposed to wet and varying temperature conditions between degrees Fahrenheit, loud noise, vibration, moving machinery/electrical parts, risk of electrical shock, airborne particles, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, allergens including soy, milk and milk by-products and fumes from food processing equipment.
