    Main Purpose of Job

    The main purpose of this full-time contractual position is to lead, support, monitor, and coordinate a wide range of complex strategic health policy and planning activities regarding the inclusion of those who are experiencing disparities and disabilities within Public Health and Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Programs. This position will provide support to a Chronic Disease and Community Health Worker grant, as well as provide support to equity and inclusion activities. This position will need to be skilled and experienced with addressing\r
    disparities and social justice, as this position will be expected to build and coordinate inclusion activities within new and existing programs in the Maryland Department of Health (MDH)'s Prevention and Health Promotion Administration (PHPA)'s Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control (CCDPC).\r

    This position will work to increase the disability inclusion priority, along with increasing the awareness of disparities in chronic disease and other public health programming across the CCDPC. This position will also ensure the inclusion of underserved populations into all chronic disease programs in the CCDPC, in addition to all supporting programs in the Cancer and Chronic Disease Bureau (CCDB). Furthermore, this position will provide ongoing management of grant and budget projects, along with ongoing contract management and technical assistance to partners.\r

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:�A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field. �\r
    Experience:�Six years of professional experience in health services, three years of which must have been in Health Services professional clinical or administrative services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, or Addictions, and two years of which must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.\r
    Notes:\r
    1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree or a Doctorate degree in a health or human services field from an accredited college or university for up to two years of the required general experience.\r
    2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in another field, plus an additional year of professional experience in health services, for the required education.\r
    3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a Commissioned Officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Health Services Administration specialty codes in the health-related field of work, on a year-for-year basis, for the required experience and education.\r

    DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    The desired candidate should have professional experience in a Public Health Program. The desired candidate should also have experience with equity programming, including addressing disparities and social justice.\r

    BENEFITS

    Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract, and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits.�\r
    You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\r
    Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12-month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r
