    Description
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provides/assists with personal hygiene of the patients.
    • Obtain patient's vital signs and weight as requested.
    • Perform bedside glucose checks on patients.
    • Physical comfort and positioning of the patients.
    • Passing and feeding of meal tray to the patients.
    • Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to provide non-direct patient care/support services to staff under the direction of licensed personnel.
    • Maintains current knowledge of equipment and supplies.
    • Responds to patient requests promptly.
    • Follows general nursing policies and procedures regarding patient care.
    • Communicates openly, directly and timely to immediate supervisor regarding department concerns and decisions.
    • Consults with and keeps staff nurses informed of unit activities, needs and problems related to patient care.
    • Answers patient call lights timely and reports problems and requests to the nurse.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality.
    • Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
    • Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
    • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
    • Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
    Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Professional Requirements:
    • Complete annual education requirements.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
    • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
    • Wear identification while on duty.
    • Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
    • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
    • Comply with all organizational policies.
    • Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values.
    • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement
      activities.
    • Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.
    Job Requirements:
    • Successful completion of certified nurse aide course.
    • Medical terminology class (preferred).
    • Basic Life Support.
    • Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
