    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Under direct supervision, the Assistant Preschool Teacher conducts day-to-day educational activities for children ages 12 months to 5 years of age, to children with and without autism spectrum disorder in an inclusive preschool classroom.
    • Provides educational activities and support to promote language, social, and adaptive behavior development.
    • Support will include activity, preparation, set-up and clean-up as well as classroom environmental set-up.
    • Monitors child activity and behavior within the classroom.
    • Ensures compliance with state, university, and practice policies and procedures.
    • Performs related responsibilities as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma/GED.
    • Priority will be given to completion of one year of college coursework toward a degree in early childhood education, special education, psychology, human development, or related field.
    • May pursue Early Childhood Education degree/credential/certificate within first year of hire.
    • Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation and pass a background check.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • At least one year of experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities.
    Must have reliable transportation and pass background check. Ability to work on site between the hours of 7:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday.


    NOTE:

    Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option.
