    Location: Remote: This position can be based remotely in US. Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager.

    The Launch Co-Pilot is a new role within US MA which will help establish and define the Launch Excellence capability for US MA in partnerships with the Head, Launch Excellence & Medical Operations and other partnerships across US MA. This role will be performed both, as an individual authority as well as a collaborator. The role ensures efficient alignment of launch strategy and execution to drive efficiency; effectiveness; compliance; consistency and best practices across therapeutic areas, and management; all while allowing flexibility to accommodate market changes. Serves as a key partner to enable Medical Strategy Teams (MST) decision-making. Acts as an internal Launch consultant to Medical Team Heads, bringing launch expertise to pressure test decisions, elevate thinking and provide quality control across therapeutic areas.

    Accountabilities:

    Leadership Oversight: Responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and providing guidance to the MA teams throughout the organization including country teams to guarantee seamless and timely execution of launch tactics. Communicates's product launch strategy to national/regional Medical Affairs authorities. Ensures that studies planned by national/regional affiliates fit into the launch strategy.

    Best in Class Launch: Builds a launch plan aligned with all strategic components-Clinical, Regulatory, Medical, and Commercial and Compliance optimization-and prioritization of resources that aligns with overall organizational vision and aspirations. Provide advisory support to the MST & challenges status-quo. Act as key Quality Control guide to pressure test launch plans, identify and close gaps, and ensure standard processes are being pulled through.

    Data-driven Decision-Making: Work closely with Medical Intelligence & Technology team to ensure data-driven decision-making and works closely with Medical Standards & Processes to build robust processes, systems, and training to support execution.

    Standardized Launch: Collate and share standard processes & proactively share lessons learned. Establish launch metrics to evaluate the performance of the medical strategy plan such as, landscape preparation, publication planning, Medical Science Liaison (MSL) activities, data generation, impact of data disseminated on clinical practice, and bridging the knowledge gap. Analyze all quantitative KPIs against each achievement. Resolve adjustments needed based on ongoing assessments.

    Liaising: advises and supports launch planning to ensure that US Medical Affairs addresses true clinical, and patient needs along the launch path. Works in a matrix participating as a member of various Medical Affairs cross-functions teams and committees to further strengthen medical affairs strategic and tactical alignment peri and post launch.

    Key Performance Indicators:
    * Ability to work in partnership with key internal and external collaborators to co-develop launch strategy and implement tactical plans.
    * Ability to drive innovation and bring novel ideas to launch readiness.
    * Ability to build positive relationships with key internal collaborators (e.g., Medical Experts, Evidence Generation, Field Medical, and Commercial launch excellence).
    * Ability to effectively communicate and align key collaborators to achieve launch objectives
    * Ability to deliver key tactics on time, with high quality and within budget
    * Ability to work within the policies and ethics and compliance guidelines of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation (NPC).

    Role Requirements



    What You Will Bring to the role:

    Education:
    * Bachelors or equivalent 4-Year University Degree required.
    * Advanced degree strongly preferred (MBA, MD, PhD, or PharmD)

    Experience:
    * Minimum of 7 years' cross-functional pharmaceutical industry launch experience
    * Previous track record of success in working with and leading complex teams.
    * Expert knowledge in medical affairs and/or drug development, commercial
    * Excellent agility and analytical abilities, very strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
    * Strong interpersonal skills for linking between scientific and business participants, for driving a project to effective implementation and for running effective stakeholder collaborations.
    * Strong verbal and written communications, expert teammate; excels at interacting with diverse group of people.
    * Advanced strategic planning capabilities.
    * Strong project / program management experience; ability to handle multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
    * Leadership presence with the ability to present and interact with senior management.
    * Strong business acumen and market acumen.
    * Demonstrated problem-solving skills and comfort with complexity.

    The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $201,600 and $302,400 a year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
