Job Highlights

As the DevOps Engineer/Systems Integrator on ENFIRE, you will be working closely with the software development team to maintain the project's software and hardware baselines in a small team atmosphere.

This includes providing patch/driver updates and integrating new hardware when necessary. You'll also help maintain and modernize the existing CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous deployment) pipeline.
The ENFIRE project supports the Army Mission Command via the Army Geospatial Center.

ENFIRE is focused on geospatial application development for the Army, providing digital semi-automated data collection utilities through external sensors such as GPS, LiDAR, IMU, etc.

that enable Engineer Reconnaissance and Reconnaissance Platoon Operations from a ruggedized laptop.

The work is largely done in a DevOps environment and is focused on a targeting project that directly assists warfighters.

ENFIRE combines GOTS and COTS hardware and software to provide faster and more accurate collection of relevant Engineer Reconnaissance Operations.

Candidate must be a quick learner, self-motivated, and able to balance multiple simultaneous tasks. As a project where R&D efforts are often asked for by the customer, the candidate must be willing to learn and execute various infrastructure requests (ex. managing VMs on VMWare or standing up AWS resources). The team operates in a hybrid environment (3 days remote, 2 days at the Fairfax office).

However, the candidate may need to support test and delivery events at the customer site (Springfield) and at the Chantilly distribution facility as needed.

As a DevOps Engineer/Systems Integrator, you will...

Maintaining the system's baselines via patching, software updates, and upgrades
Provide technical direction to team leads and customers
Act independently supporting the software development team, and become a subject matter expert on the software and hardware baseline on which the software runs
Manage the imaging and deployment environment (MDT)
Maintain the continuous integration environment utilized by the software development team

DevOps Engineer/Systems Integrator Qualifications:
BS Degree
4+ years' experiencein the IT field
2+ years' experience with Windows system administration
Experience troubleshooting complex IT issues
Experience writing and maintaining scripts (Python, BASH, PowerShell, Visual Basic)

Additional Skills We'd Like to See:
Experience with image deployment or Microsoft Deployment Kit / Ghost or comparable technology
Laptop, desktop, and edge-device configuration and deployment experience
Experience with Virtualization technologies (VMware, VirtualBox)
Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools
Experience with Gitlab CI
Exposure to Linux environments
