    for an

    Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)


    to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members in the Point Loma area of San Diego, California.

    AUSGAR is currently seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the execution of Risk Management Framework (RMF). Would prefer Navy Intelligence (NAVINTEL) experience. National Security Agency (NSA) experience is optional. ISSE will be responsible for creating and updating RMF packages.

    In addition, the ISSE will provide operational cybersecurity support to the program to include conducting ACAS scans, STIG testing as required, reviewing and updating HBSS/ESS security policies, creating/managing user access and reviewing event logs.

    The scope of this effort includes examination of the system architectures, engineering processes and cybersecurity.

    Leverage expertise in administering US government security policies and procedures for multiple programs as the Information System Security Engineer (ISSE).

    Create Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages using Risk Management Framework (RMF) for computer networks using government standards, including ensuring systems are operated, maintained and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures, as outlined in the security authorization package.

    Work with NSA and/or NAVINTEL to ensure cybersecurity requirements are being met.

    Maintain responsibility for hardware and software control, computer security briefings, educating users within the security program and ensuring business needs are met.

    Work with systems administrators to ensure all systems security procedures are being followed in accordance with the applicable System Security Plan (SSP) and Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM).

    Support program system administrators as needed for software patch installation and antivirus updates.
    Conduct security self-reviews and Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) requirements.

    Requirements

    Must have a current TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly upon hire.
    Must have a DoD 8140 IAM level I cert upon hire.

    A DoD 8140 IAM Level II or higher cert preferred.

    Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or Information Assurance or related field from an accredited university, five years plus of applicable experience with cybersecurity and two years plus applicable experience as an ISSE, ISSO or ISSM.

    Must have experience working with NAVINTEL or NSA on RMF processes and procedures.
    Experience with ACAS/Nessus scanner and DISA STIGs.
    Experience with operating systems and configurations, including LAN, WAN or VLAN.
    Experience with VM environments.
    Knowledge of XACTA or eMASS.
    Knowledge of the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process for DoD computers.

    Knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 703, Director of Central Intelligence Directive (DCID) 6/3, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and associated National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) publications.

    Prefer experience with HBSS/ESS/Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO).
    Prefer previous experience as an IT or system administrator.
    Expected travel up to 10%.

    Salary Range:
    $120-200K


    An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.

    AUSGAR's salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location. Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation.
