    Job Summary/Basic Function The Assistant Catering Coordinator will oversee all phases of banquet operations. Must be enthusiastic, possess excellent communication and organizational skills and have an ability to lead and direct a large banquet staff.
  • Plan for proper equipment needed for events, set up and supervise catering staff during events.
  • Determine the ideal time to initiate plating of food to ensure the highest quality of services to the customer. Communicate with kitchen staff and the person in charge of the event as needed.
  • Initiate and organize clean-up at the close of each function in order to utilize time as efficiently as possible. For example, separate items by department so that, upon return, employees are able to quickly unload and put items away in proper locations.
  • Scheduling
  • Plan for and lead the weekly planning meeting and monthly catering meeting with full catering staff.
  • Yearly inventory
  • Preferred Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED
    Preferred: Vocational or technical certificate/degree
    Tips training and ServSafe certification (must be certified or obtain certification within 30 days) A valid Driver's Licence is required. Employees (operators) must have been in possession of a valid operator's license for not less than three (3) years and the license must have been in good standing without interruption during that time period. Yes Successful candidate will also be required to complete ACT 153 Clearance Yes This position is considered "Emergency Staff." As such they may be required to report to work even when the college is closed or is operating under a delayed start. No Physical Demands Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. This position requires frequent squatting, bending, twisting and driving the catering truck. It requires constant walking, use of both arms and legs, and lifting above the waist.
