    UTHealth Houston is looking for a financial analyst to work with our Dean's Office area.

    You will be looking at a lot of data, and creating spreadsheets which generate specific reports that are needed by our leadership.

    You must have advanced Excel skills, strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving ability. Successful candidates will have experience working with large volumes of data. Ability to work independently and effectively with prudent judgement and discretion. Able to meet deadlines and prioritize competing demands.

    You will be working on projects such as preparing a physician productivity report which analyzes revenues generated by specific clinicians in our operation.

    Another report will be one that we provide to the department of Health and Human Services which covers any uncompensated care we provide.

    You will also be looking at clinical budgets, and other projects that require a lot of interpretation and report generation.

    Your work location will be at our Binz Building which is near Park Plaza hospital and the Museum of Fine Art.

    The role will be hybrid with several days in the office a week, but also a mix of remote days as well.

    During training you may be in the office more frequently than the period after.

    At the start you can expect three days in the office with two at home, and that reversing as you get more assured in your role.

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    Provides professional level skills in performing simple to moderate complex financial analysis for the institution. Completes financial analysis and assists in the development of various institution wide and operating unit specific financial reports.

    Manages the Time Study for the institution, utilizes time study data, and various internal reporting systems and internal financial reports to gather, interpret, and create complex data sets in order to build a complex annual cost report.

    Responsible for the report development and preparation detailing complex collection guarantee models for clinical departments as a subset of the annual affiliation agreement.

    Monitors, reconciles, and reports on monthly financial details of the affiliation agreement.
    May analyze, prepare, and/or review various financial reporting activities. Prepares ad hoc reports and specific financial analyses as requested by senior leadership for special projects. Participates in the development and implementation of new budget processes and reporting templates.
    Prepare monthly HHS ASA invoice. Serve as a liaison between HHS and Departments to address invoice related questions.
    Prepares monthly reports related to staffing trends and productivity by service line. Must be able to analyze/interpret report data for compliance with contract requirements. Present summary of findings to UT Administration on a quarterly basis.
    Maintain current staffing plan. Oversee amendment process and submit draft staffing plan annually. Assist in developing new templates and processes on an as needed basis.
    Other duties as assigned.
    Bachelor's degree in accounting; or, relevant experience in lieu of degree.
    Four (4) years of accounting, budgeting, or finance.

    Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
