    These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems.

    You'll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.

    You will have the opportunity to perform design, development, documentation, integration, test and debug of circuit card hardware architecture for DoD systems.

    Hardware designs will be integrated into small form factor security devices and network systems. Responsibilities include Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design, FPGA design, design documentation generation, hardware integration and test.

    You will be part of a high performing development team currently developing a new product for SNC.The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide.

    The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

    Hardware Design and IntegrationFPGA Design >ARM 7 or 8 based microcontroller design8 bit and 16 bit microcontroller design such as Microchip, Microblaze, PicoBlaze, or MSP430Initiate problem solving for new product designs as well as existing productsPlan and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and specific Customer requirementsOriginate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, and reports, in support of design and developmentExecute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost and schedule requirementsAssemble, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronicsResponsible for the design and development of units from concept through qualificationMust-haves: Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or otherrelateddiscipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experienceDemonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practicesUnderstandingof Computer Aided Engineering toolsExperience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teamsPCB layout and fabrication documentation and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design, layout part placement and routing practicesPower Sequencing & Switching power supply designExperience with Microcontroller design (MSP430) and Multiprocessor System on Chip design (MPSoC)

    Schematic capture design with Mentor Graphics tools (PADS, DxDesigner)FPGA design experience with VHDLKnowledge of interface and design documentation such as Functional block diagrams, Hardware Design Specifications, and Hardware Design Descriptions, test procedures, and built-in-test methodologiesHardware Integration and Test of PCB/CCA designsPreferred:
    State machine and high speed digital bus designExperience with digital multi-meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers for serial/USB/I2C/Ethernet, impedance analyzers, and FPGA debug tools (ChipScope)

    Experience working with anti-tamper design practices is desiredExperience with Xilinx, Altera, MicroSemi, or Cypress FPGA's is desiredUSB, gigabit Ethernet, SPI, serial, uSD (SDHC, SDXC), and I2C design experience is desiredLow power mobile processor and FPGA based design experience desiredEstimated Starting Salary Range:
    $114, $157, SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.

    IMPORTANT NOTICE:
    This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

    The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants.

    Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
