    Duties



    The following are the duties of this position at the
    GS-13.

    If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.


    As a
    Financial Analyst, you will:


    • Perform complex technical review and analysis of financial data reported on various documents such as budgets, requisitions, year end settlement and financial statements, and voucher assistance payments.
    Use information from a variety of systems in making determinations regarding approval of program budgets, financial statements, and scheduling of payments. HUD systems include, but are not limited to HUDCAPS, PIC, VMS, and FASS.

    • Recommend creative solutions to complex financial problems and take an active role in implementing needed changes to resolve the identified issue.
    Is looked to as the subject matter expert that provides technical assistance and advice to the Field Offices, Headquarters, REAC, etc., as necessary on issues relating to the financial management of the Section 8 programs.

    • Serve as a team or project lead and or subject matter expert.
    Initiate and participate in complex and team assignments as needed to deal with cross cutting financial management issues. When appropriate, participate in teams established to address Section 8 financial management issues problems, to develop appropriate solutions (which often will be extended nationwide) to financial management issues and problems identified by either analysis or data or through contact with Field Office staff or REAC staff.

    • Assist the FMC Director, subordinate supervisor or Division Director in monitoring and evaluating Management or performance Plan goals, including input and feedback into the development and analysis of complex diagnostic data.
    Monitor and track accomplishment as assigned and provide input into the Management Plan reports, analyze reports submitted on shortfalls, over leasing, clarify issues, resolve problems relating to goals achievement.
