    Description


    The ideal candidate will perform various duties to support the Surgical Suite Team in providing high-quality patient care.



    1. Assist team members in maintaining the operative schedule by transporting patients between different areas, including SDC, Post-Op, Inpatient Floors, and the Emergency Room.

    2. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all OR beds, tables, and attachments.

    3. Ensure proper equipment function prior to patient care, securing beds, attachments, and headpieces as needed.

    4. Deliver and return necessary equipment to each operating room, such as stirrups, suction machines, towers, step stools, and positioning aides.

    5. Assist in handling and delivering delicate equipment like microscopes and specialty gear.

    6. Clean equipment and cords before returning them to designated locations.

    7. Change linens on patient beds and stretchers to prepare for patient transfer.

    8. Verify oxygen tanks are full and ready for transfer.

    9. Maintain patient safety by ensuring locked beds and raised bed rails during transfers.

    10. Follow safety policies and procedures related to blood and body fluids.

    11. Demonstrate infection prevention standards and cleaning protocols for patient and staff safety.

    12. Wear appropriate personal protective attire for tasks performed.

    13. Assist with room cleaning and turnover as assigned or directed.

    14. FOLLOW established cleaning procedures between surgical cases.

    15. Assist with patient positioning, lifting, and transfer. May assist with skin prep under RN direction.

    16. Restock and maintain sub sterile rooms, utility rooms, equipment rooms, and supply areas.

    17. Initiate efforts to keep these areas clean, organized, and free from clutter.

    18. Assist RN in restocking OR room cabinets according to par levels.

    19. Work effectively with other staff as part of the surgical team.

    20. Prioritize tasks based on urgency and ability to multitask.

    21. Participate in the orientation of new personnel to the department under supervision.

      22. Additional responsibilities may include performing other work-related duties as assigned or requested by their supervisor.
