    Position Summary The University of Georgias University Health Center seeks candidates for the position of Psychiatrist. This position is full-time, twelve-month, benefited position that is non-tenured faculty status.

    CAPS Psychiatrists provide age appropriate, time limited, crisis intervention as well as acute, chronic and preventive psychiatric care to students and eligible members of the University community.

    This position will provide initial evaluation for psychopharmacological interventions based on the presenting concern, clinical interview, subjective questionnaires, and consultation with counseling staff.

    The Psychiatrist will synthesize objective and subjective data to formulate a conceptualization of the clients diagnoses, primary problem, and basic plan for medication management or other recommended intervention.

    This position also supports the collaborative care model through a consultative relationship with primary care providers through embedded Behavioral Care Managers as part of an integrated model with medical services.

    The position will provide clinical supervision for psychiatric nurse practitioners, behavioral care managers and counselling staff, including co-signing (assess care and decision making, ensure adequate documentation, and offer feedback where appropriate) entries in medical records for NP/PA staff.

    Additional Requirements Three or more years experience in the evaluation and treatment of individuals whose age and psychological development are similar to traditional and non-traditional college students.

    One year of clinical experience in a university counseling or mental health setting, and/or one year of experience as a consulting psychiatrist in a Collaborative Care Model or similar.

    Board Certified in Psychiatry.
    CPR / AED certification required within first year of employment.

    Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Familiarity and skill with brief assessment and crisis intervention.

    One year or more of supervisory experience.
    Completion of an accredited child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship.
    Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a team environment.
    Training and skills in providing telehealth services.
    Familiarity with accreditation (JC, APA , and/or IACS ) requirements and standards for site visit review.
    Background working in a multidisciplinary setting.
    Background working with a college or university population; good consultation skills related to a medical ambulatory care facility.
    Familiarity with AOD , ED, or ADD / ADHD .Skill or interest in mental health outreach programming.

    Familiarity working with an electronic health care system such as PnC.Background working in a setting involved in the training and supervision of counseling and psychotherapy to students in training or post-graduate professionals.

    Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Patient Care:

    Provide primary (mental health outreach), secondary, and tertiary services to eligible members of the UGA community within an ambulatory scope of service.

    Provide initial evaluation for psychopharmacological interventions based on the presenting concern, clinical interview, subjective questionnaires, and consultation with counseling staff.

    Synthesize objective and subjective data to formulate a conceptualization of the clients diagnoses, primary problem, and basic plan for medication management or other recommended intervention.

    Make internal and external referrals as indicated following practice guidelines and general scope of service. Use policies and procedures for tracking to ensure referrals are successful. Establish collaborative working relationships with clients that involve both the initiation and progression of an individualized treatment plan. Follow professional and organizational standards to document in the electronic health record.

    Develop individualized treatment plans based on an investigation of empirically supported treatment options, make appropriate referrals, and accurately document treatment provided.


    Percentage Of Time 70 Duties/Responsibilities Leadership:
