    Summary of the position

    The Wealth Strategist will construct complex financial plans as well as be an integral member of the client advisory team. This role will be the primary point of communication for our Wealth Management 1 & Family Wealth clients regarding planning strategy. They will collaborate with other members of the team to exceed our client expectations. This individual needs to have a strong understanding of wealth planning strategies as they will be responsible for developing and delivering complex financial plans and corresponding recommendations.

    Responsibilities
    • Serve as subject matter expert on complex wealth planning strategies and recommendations
    • Present and participate in meetings with existing and potential clients
    • Work with other members of the client's service team to prepare for client meetings and our Wealth Planning team for a cohesive approach to planning.
    • Work with the Wealth Planning team to construct financial plans for large and complex clients in alignment with Sequoia's planning philosophy.
    • Evaluates client goals and objectives, contributes to team development of relationship strategy and constructs financial plans to execute strategy.
    • Advises clients on wealth planning strategies consistent with Sequoia guidelines.
    • Maintains compliance with all internal policies and procedures.
    • Work with Wealth Planning team leadership to maintain deep expertise in technical planning topics and other related areas.
    • Has the knowledge and ability to structure financial plans within a fiduciary framework.
    • Assists the advisory and wealth planning team in the development of cohesive firm-level planning strategy.
    • Actively engages with the advisory team in relationship reviews and offer ideas and strategies to actualize client aspirations. Interfaces with other advisors and sales team members as necessary to provide exemplary service to the client.
    • Fosters a culture of accountability by continually coaching and assessing the strengths and development needs of employees and initiating appropriate actions.
    • Creates an atmosphere of communication and collaboration which includes the ability to coach and lead employees and team to deliver on their objectives and contribute to both the success of the team and the individual.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree - Prefer a degree in Financial Planning or Finance
    • CFP certificant or advanced credential in related practice area (ex., JD, CPA)
    • 10 years of experience in the financial planning field
    • Strong technical knowledge base covering all aspects of comprehensive financial planning including cash management, income tax planning, insurance, education planning, retirement planning, estate planning, and risk management, paired with an ability to collaborate with advisors and clients making technical conclusions applicable in real life **
    • Experience working with financial planning software
    • Competency with Microsoft Office products
    Preferred Skills/Experience
    • Experience working with high net-worth clients
    • Experience with eMoney & MoneyGuidePro software a plus
    • Expert understanding of business succession, estate, philanthropic, insurance, education, and financial planning, including applicable legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
