OVERVIEW

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation Planning Engineering Intern to join our Atlanta, GA office for Summer 2026.

YOUR ROLE

• The ideal candidate will support the planning, development, and implementation of comprehensive transportation systems.
• Assist with preparing reports, traffic forecasts, and technical documents to support transportation studies and guide project decision-making.
• Coordinates graphic exhibit preparation and/or other portions of a planning project.
• Engage in traffic data collection, crash analysis, and intersection capacity analysis using various software.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

ABOUT YOU

• EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
• EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree, a planning degree, or equivalent from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: None

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
