    Position: Design Engineer

    As Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing airline upholstery covers, as well as, supporting documentation and manufacturing drawings for aerospace products that meet our customers expectations as well as the Companys quality system procedures.

    Responsibilities may include:

    Work closely with customers and internal engineering team to develop, negotiate, and obtain customer approval of product design and specification

    Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications and other data to evaluate for feasibility, costs, and requirements of designs and applications

    Formulate conceptual designs using engineering principles to assist in the planning and design of aerospace products in accordance with the customers requirements

    Develop design criteria for aerospace products including test methods, quality standards, and completion dates

    Collaborate with engineering and drafting team, plan work to ensure the achievement of deadlines

    Perform product engineering development and product support activities as directed (engineering tasks include product design & development, design documentation (2D & 3D), prototyping, tooling, CNC programming, and manufacturing process documentation

    Prepare technical documentation such as General Parts Documents (GPD) for use by production staff

    Construct and distribute trim development instructions

    Lead the design review to ensure accurate dimensional tolerances meet appropriate modeling yielding acceptable results

    Ensure product design meets the product specification through complete execution through data and part analysis

    Ensure all required specifications are included in design and release process for trim cover assemblies

    Verification of all trim cover design release data and packages

    Provide trim expertise and Gerber knowledge to internal staff members and customers as needed

    Collaborate with Product Development and Design Shop staff to ensure proper execution

    Attend project review meetings; work with Program Managers and Engineers to evaluate design needs within the scope of the project

    Attend CDR meetings or offsite customer meetings as required

    Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis

    Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within department

    Recognize your role as part of the Companys Quality Objective; follow established policies and procedures in support of the Companys Quality and AS9100 standards and initiatives

    Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner

    Perform product engineering development and product support activities as directed

    Experience/Education:

    • Bachelors in mechanical, design, or other related engineering disciplines
    • 2-5 years experience working in related field
    • Working knowledge of CAD software; AutoCAD Inventor series
    • Job related experience in manufacturing industry a plus
    • Job related experience in sewing industry a plus
    • Working knowledge of Gerber Technologies a plus
