    Description

    Responsibilities of the Electronics Technician include the support of safety, quality, and production standards by ensuring the continuous operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
    • Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as correct terminations, loose connections or frayed wires.
    • Install repaired equipment, power, light, controls, and conduit in the plant, using blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures.
    • Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators, process engineers, and other maintenance personnel to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical, electrical, or human errors contributed to the problems so the correct repair maybe ascertained.
    • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, calibrating or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.
    • Repair or adjust industrial equipment (ex. load cells, thermal couplers, or PID loop controls) to ensure that systems functions properly to the company's specifications.
    • Maintain equipment electronic logs that record performance problems, repairs, or calibrations.
    • Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to company's specifications.
    • Select appropriate materials and operates equipment to complete work, including electrical hand tools and voltage or ampere measuring devices
    • Repairs, maintains, and installs minor and major electrical systems and fixtures
    • Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads
    • Tests electrical equipment for safety before releasing to productions control.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    Qualifications


    • AA Degree in Industrial Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology or an approved apprenticeship in industrial electronics maintenance
    • 2-15 years of experience in electrical or electronics maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment
    • Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities, with good troubleshooting abilities with root cause failure analysis ability
    • Ability to work independently and within a team
    • Electrical Safety knowledge including Ach Flash safety Training
    • Flexibility to work around production's schedules, including variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime with occasional emergency call ins when required
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Own tools (e.g. hand tools, voltage or current meter)
