    :

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborate regularly with the Center Manager to ensure patient satisfaction and clinic effectiveness.
    • Serve as a point of contact for the techs and the center manager.
    • Keep in regular contact with the center manager to offer suggestions on how to boost clinic
    productivity and efficiency.


    • Take part in clinic-improvement initiatives.
    • Compile patient complaints and issues, and work with the center manager to find solutions.
    • Assist with maintaining regulatory compliance and standards for care quality, e.g., MIPS, OSHA.
    • Maintain knowledge of every area of the clinic, including the front desk, medical records, surgical
    scheduling, and call center for coordination purposes.


    • Provide input for tech scheduling.
    • Be an EMR super-user.
    • Train and on-board new techs.
    • Precept current techs or tech trainees as instructed by the center manager or tech trainer.
    • Monitor techs for productivity and compliance with clinic policies, including, but not limited to spot-checking proper charting and MIPS documentation by techs, attendees are properly documented,
    and diagnostic images are upload properly to the EMR.


    • Ensure that all tasks and patient contacts carried out by techs adhere to WEI's mission and core
    values.


    • Assist with personnel actions such as performance evaluations, interviewing new technicians,
    and evaluating ophthalmic skills.


    • Arrange and take part in tech and lead tech training.
    • Actively engage in continuing education by attending to pertinent educational seminars and
    webinars and remaining up to date with all best practices.


    • Ensure that patient workups are accurate and thorough. Maintain a smooth patient care process.
    • Maintain the lunch rotation and schedule, including their own, to ensure smooth clinic flow.
    • Manage the office's inventory supply requirements and confirm delivery of the products.
    • Hold themselves and other techs accountable for keeping track of the equipment's upkeep and
    calibration, and maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the clinic, including, but not limited to:

    o Diagnostic equipment is calibrated properly and regularly according to standard.

    o Equipment, slit lamps, and projector lights are properly shut down at the end of day. o Tonopen/iCare/Pachymeter are returned and properly stored in a case at designated

    area at the end of day.

    o Surgical instruments are properly sterilized, labeled and stored at designated area. No

    soiled/unsterilized instruments are left in the exam lanes/clinic.

    o Attest sterilization and monitoring, and autoclave's cleaning and inspection are done on

    routine basis.

    o Exam lanes are sanitized regularly and closed at the end of day.

    o Routine drops are properly dated and restored to each exam lane at the end of day.


    • Complete tasks requested by Providers and delegate as appropriate.
    • Assist with patient triage for all incoming calls and walk-ins.
    • Respond to ModMed tasks and IntraMail within expectations.
    • Finish patient workups, diagnostic tests, and other ophthalmic tech duties when necessary.
    • Carry out higher level duties deemed acceptable for clinics by the Center Manager.
    • Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the Center Manager and as needed.

    Requirements:

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in an ophthalmic practice.
    • Minimum of four (4) years' experience performing ophthalmic procedures and diagnostic testing.
    • COA or COT certification; if non-certified, COA must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple patient care needs.
    • Ability to lead and provide guidance in all situations.
    • Experience in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR), EMA/ModMed preferred.
    • Reliability and dependability.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office.
    • Flexibility (may require some early mornings and evenings)
