    PRYER Aerospace is currently looking to hire a Full Time CNC Machinist for 1st Shift Monday-Thursday (12 hour shift) with a willingness to put in extra hours when needed.     POSITION SUMMARY: Skillfully utilize computerized numerical control machining techniques to effectively meet customer demands.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Set up and operate 3, 4 & 5 Axis CNC milling machine to mill surfaces of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces. Compare numerical data display with specifications on operations sheet.
    • Read, interpret and edit G-Code for offset change.
    • Conduct periodic checks to ensure parts meet specified requirements in the router packet.
    • Adjust program parameters considering factors like tool edge variation and material hardness for optimal milling center performance.
    • Perform grinding, deburring, and polishing of parts to achieve smooth finished edges and surfaces, and clean out hole interiors.
    • Undertake basic day-to-day machine maintenance tasks, including coolant checks & refills and machine cleaning.
    • Provide constructive feedback for product enhancements to improve quality and cost-efficiency as part of continuous operational learning.
    • Maintain a High Quality Control Standard and strive for First Piece Quality or Zero Scrap.
    • Work towards achieving company and department objectives related to Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA).
    • Operate as a team player with minimal supervision.
    • Execute essential functions under the guidance of the Director of Manufacturing.

    EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • At least 2 years of CNC experience in a manufacturing setting.
    • Capable of reading, interpreting, and editing G-code.
    • Proficient in independent machine setups.
    • Experience in program editing and ability to work with mathematical calculations involving proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Familiarity with basic algebra and geometry concepts.
    • Must possess personal tools.
    • High level of expertise in Blue Print Reading, GD&T, Inspection Tools & Methods.
    • Knowledge of Aerospace materials, tolerances, and quality standards is advantageous.
    • Experience in forklift operations is a plus; ability to pass a forklift operations test successfully.
    • Basic understanding of Quality procedures and ISO standards.
