    Opportunity Snapshot:

    • Compensation: $75-80/hour
    • Location: Pasadena, TX
    • Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+
    • Assignment Duration: 12 months+

    Responsibilities:

    • Capturing project request ideas/opportunities from Operations and Maintenance
    • Holding monthly meetings with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams at each site to capture ideas and requests as they arise (in the long term helps to creates a culture of identifying and elevating potential project requests among O&M groups). Actively involve O&M managers in these monthly meetings to get their feedback on sponsor ideas. Working with O&M groups to determine which project ideas to develop into IPEFs each year
    • Maintaining list of project ideas to potentially move forward as capital project requests (Initial Project Evaluation Forms or IPEFs). Developing and tracking project requests (IPEFs) through the region's Project Request Process
    • Prioritizing which ideas move forward into IPEFs will be an ongoing process each month to kickoff new wave of IPEF creation
    • Meeting with project sponsor and facilitating project scoping to complete initial IPEF submission (to be performed year-round): Project Development Engineer (PDE) to understand and assist project sponsor to document project background, scope, and justification. Assisting project sponsor to ensure functional reviews are performed. Pulling in assistance from designers to produce marked up drawings
    • Lead an annual meeting around January to make sure O&M managers are aware of IPEF list to date and to see if any additional project requests need to be added before March submission deadline
    • Stewarding IPEFs through full review, estimation, and scheduling process. Organize and lead projects group review sessions
    • Work with cost estimator and scheduler to produce high quality budget and schedule estimates
    • Organizing IPEFs for Gulf Coast Leadership Team (GCLT) review and approval. Track IPEF status and update list year-round. Hold quarterly meetings with the GCLT to review the current IPEF list. Present and represent projects in GCLT review. Track GCLT review results, organize and file deferred projects, and communicate GCLT decisions out to project sponsors and projects group. Working with Project Engineering Manager to prep GCLT approved list for capital plan and corporate review
    • Upload approved list of projects into capital planning worksheets. Review with Project Engineering Manager and assist to create final capital plan
    • Steward creation of 'one pager' project summary sheets to use for corporate review
    • Handover of approved projects to project engineer for execution. Meet with assigned project engineers to handover documentation for approved projects, attend initial FEL 1 kickoff meetings

    Qualifications:

    • Engineering degree, preference towards chemical engineering or other engineering degrees with demonstrated experience in operations roles
    • 5+ years of experience in projects or operations role
    • Experience with process/operations engineering
    • Projects experience, especially with initial scoping
    • Experience in creating capital plans, preferred
    • Needed skills: strong with administration and organization, detail oriented, persistence, and communication skills
