    Pharmacy Lead Medication History Technician

    Job Description

    Pharmacy Lead Clinical Technicians are responsible for assisting clinical pharmacists in all aspects of pharmaceutical care including medication reconciliation and inpatient prescription processing.

    They also provide leadership to the Medication Reconciliation Team.

    Department:
    Pharmacy, Hours: as needed, days, evenings, and weekends

    Responsibilities
    Answers the door and telephone. Assists customers with inquires, questions and concerns., Assumes a leadership role among medication reconciliation technicians.

    Assists lead pharmacist in all aspects of the Medication Reconciliation program including scheduling, training, reporting and quality assurance., Completes all record keeping and reporting necessary for department goals and performance improvement program., Completes General Employee Orientation, On-Line Interactive Education (OLIE), and All other Competency assessments related to the position of Pharmacy Technician., Coordinates the First Fill Program, ensuring smooth processing and filling of inpatient discharge prescriptions.

    , Interviews patients, utilizing all resources to obtain complete and accurate medication history, and works with insurance vendors to facilitate patient's prescription needs., Maintains a clean and uncluttered work environment., Monitors assigned sections for outdated drugs.

    (Both in pharmacy and Assigned Nursing Station)., Performs any and all duties required by Pharmacy Technicians to ensure smooth operation of Pharmacy., Processes departmental paperwork as needed., Processes medication orders accurately and in a timely manner.

    Files processed orders upon completion., Restocks Pyxis units using the PARX system. Delivers meds to Pyxis units., Supports Clinical Pharmacist functions in all aspects as needed.
