- Worked under great management, including their Controller (who is a CPA, looking to pass on their knowledge)
- Inventory Management:
- Develop and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies.
- Implement inventory valuation methods and assess inventory obsolescence.
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to optimize inventory levels.
- SG&A Analysis and Control:
- Analyze SG&A expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual SG&A budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor actual expenses against budgeted targets and variance analysis.
- Implement controls to ensure compliance with expense policies and guidelines.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements related to inventory and SG&A.
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
- Support the audit process by providing relevant documentation and explanations.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve inventory and SG&A processes.
- Identify areas for automation and efficiency gains.
- Implement best practices to enhance financial reporting accuracy and timeliness.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on inventory management and SG&A analysis.
- Strong understanding of inventory valuation methods
- Proficiency in ERPs and accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
