    Position: Deli Department Manager

    Our Deli departments are routinely voted Best Deli in each city we're located. Our Deli Department Manager plays a key role in maintaining our status of best deli in town. From handcrafted sandwiches & party platters, to premier customer service, a Joseph's Deli Clerk will be a part of a winning team.

    Routine Tasks:

    -Ensures Deli department staff is providing customer service up to the Joseph's standard

    -Maintains Joseph's standards for product freshness and sanitation

    -Ensures all new and existing Deli associates are properly trained and equipped with knowledge and tools to perform their jobs up to company standards

    -Sells products by providing customers with product information, answering questions and making suggestions. Trains their team to do the same.

    -Responsible for controlling budgets and hitting Sales targets, profit margin targets, payrolls targets and supplies targets

    -Writes and ensures labor schedule is adhered to

    -Submits orders and manages inventory to prevent out of stocks and abundances that lead to waste

    -Replenishes, maintains, and rotates products and display cases

    -Slice cold cut meats & cheeses, prepare custom sandwiches, and prepare special orders and party platters

    -Packages and labels products for self-service, and ensures product signage is accurate

    -Operates meat and cheese slicers, oven, knives, scale, and other Deli equipment

    -Assists with other tasks as assigned

    Qualifications:

    -Ability to deliver friendly, respectful, timely customer service

    -Ability to lead a team and hold people accountable

    -Ability to manage profit and loss and income statements

    -Ability to interpret and follow instructions

    -Ability to work well with others

    -A passion for serving people

    A Deli Department Manager performs their tasks primarily in the Deli department. Must have the ability to clearly articulate the company's goals and follow up on tasks and projects to achieve those goals. Must be able to resolve conflicts and promote a positive environment where all department associates enjoy coming to work. Work involves walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting products weighing up to 50 pounds. Work also includes frequent interaction with customers and fellow employees.
