- Collect information regarding a child's performance using various methods from multiple settings and sources
- Assist in developing goals related to academic and nonacademic performance and recommend OT service delivery when educationally necessary (Individualized Education Plan-IEP).
- Assist with developing activities and time lines for the developmental outcomes (Individualized Family Service Plan-IFSP), or write objectives that reflect the student's needs in the educational setting (IEP).
- Assist in developing an OT intervention plan.
- Assist in planning for and delivering OT services according to the frequency and duration listed on the IFSP or IEP.
- Assist in developing and implementing a plan of data collection to provide objective basis for decision making.
- Provide intervention that enhances the child's functional abilities.
- Recommend altering intervention plans as indicated by a child's performance.
- Contribute information in meetings, conferences, and informal interactions as requested.
- Document child's performance, phone calls, meetings, and such in child's OT record.
- Assist in providing appropriate training to family and non OT personnel who supply activities within the daily routine.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Certification by the State of Minnesota as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Prompt, regular and reliable attendance
- Ability to perform routine computer functions, including the use of email and Microsoft Word
- Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
- Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
- Experience working in the education field.
