    Description

    About the Job:

    This job opportunity is with St. Louis Public Schools as a SPED Instructional Care Aid. As an SPED Instructional Care Aid, you will play a vital role in assisting teachers to implement instructional and care programs to support students' academic progress and personal growth.

    Responsibilities:

    • Escort, assist, and supervise students during various activities throughout the day
    • Support teachers in behavior management and test administration
    • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce skills introduced by the teacher
    • Assist in maintaining work and study areas, equipment, materials, and facilities
    • Conduct health-related procedures as needed
    • Participate in training sessions, conferences, and workshops
    • Provide information and support substitute teachers
    • Perform other duties related to Special Education as assigned

    Requirements:

    To be successful in this role, you should have:

    • Experience working with children
    • Basic computer skills
    • Experience in an educational setting (preferred)
    • Experience in tutoring young children (preferred)
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 60 College Credit hours or a passing score on the Paraprofessional licensure exam

    Salary: $19.78 per hour
    Physical Setting: Development center, Public school
    Schedule: Monday to Friday
    Education: Associate degree required
    Experience: 1 year in special education and childcare required
    Work Location: In person
