    Overview



    TheMaintenance Mechanicperforms the installation, maintenance, servicing, repairing and rebuilding of all plant equipment. This position is located in Louisville, KY and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

    Must be willing to work a 8, 10 or 12 hour shift schedule, nights, holidays, weekends and overtime as required. The starting pay is $38.73 per hour.





    Responsibilities



    Maintenance of Plant Operations:

      Effectively troubleshoot electrical, instrument, and mechanical problems in the field.
    • Repairs, installs and services all plant equipment and building and grounds.
    • Executes all tasks necessary as assigned to support plant operations.
    • Tests all work for proper operation prior to turnover to production.
    • Provides feedback to supervision pertaining to out of calibration instrumentation and any abnormal equipment observations.
    • Assists with PLC troubleshooting as required.
    • Troubleshoot and repair problems with motor starters and variable frequency drives.
    • Operate testing apparatus during test cycle to produce, regulate and record effects of actual or simulated conditions.
    • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of plant instrument devices and equipment.
    • Maintain a clean, organized shop and clean design practices during day to day work activities.
    • Follow planning and scheduling protocols for the completion and documentation of work order status.
    • Incident commander in emergencies.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Maintains Proficiencies in the Following Areas:

    • Process Instrumentation with an understanding of measurement and testing devices used in Process Automation; temperature, pressure, level, flow, weight and various analyzers.
    • Electrical power, conduit, and electrical wiring installation and instrumentation calibration (hazardous and non-hazardous).
    • Troubleshooting, repair and calibration of control valves, actuators and positioners.
    • General mechanical and troubleshooting.
    • Piping threading and fitting.
    • Rotating equipment rebuilding and alignment (mechanical seals, bearings and couplings, etc.).
    • Reading and understanding PIDs, electrical prints and equipment drawings.




    Qualifications

    • HS Diploma and 5+ years of experience working on industrial equipment and facilities.
    • Must have experience in Instrumentation and Control maintenance.
    • Must be familiar with PLC, DCS, electrical motor controls, VFDs and with some pneumatic experience with strong troubleshooting experience.
    • Must be able to climb ladders and work at significant heights.
    • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; both to carry and to lift overhead.
    • Must be able to wear a respirator and to enter confined spaces.
    • May be required to obtain additional skills such as welding.
