    Overview of Position


    Osborn Engineering is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer to serve as the lead technical resource for the energy services team.

    The position is primarily responsible for identifying and understanding the energy and operational improvement opportunities within a customer's facility. The Senior Energy Engineer will be involved in a diverse range of projects and technologies.

    Ideal candidate would be a self-starter, organized and have an ability to prioritize workload; have diversity of technical expertise; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers, clients and employees; and excellent customer care skills.

    The opportunity also provides the great career path within the energy services industry as it will cover multiple aspects of a project including sales support, proposal development, energy audits, detailed design, and retro-commissioning.

    The Senior Energy Engineer will also be tasked with mentoring junior engineers to help in their development.

    Position Responsibilities:
    Lead the energy audits of buildings and identification of possible energy efficiency, water efficiency and renewables opportunities.

    Identify and provide documentation for energy efficiency strategies at customer facilities.

    Determine energy baseline, develop measurement and verification (M&V) methodologies.

    Calculate utility, operational and ancillary savings, and generate financial analysis reports.

    Assist with data collection, organization and setup for building energy modeling.

    Analyze building utility bills to determine energy usage trends, quantify energy consumption and savings opportunities.


    Assist in developing and cultivating effective business relationships with customers and communicate full scope of energy efficiency opportunities to meet customer goals and achieve company's sales objectives.

    Provide technical sales support and coordination, both internally to other team members and externally to customers.

    Promote business activity by coordinating, developing and presenting concepts and preliminary technical findings.


    Assist other team members in the development of energy efficiency projects by collecting valuable site and any other related data.


    Become a specialist for a specific technology category and keep current with innovations and share knowledge with the energy services team.

    Mentor less experienced engineers.

    Perform other duties as required.

    Travel, as required (valid driver's license at all times).


    Job Requirements/Qualifications:


    Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or universityin the field of mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, or other related discipline.

    In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    HVAC industry, lighting and Building Automation System (BAS) controls knowledge.

    • 10 years' experience in energy engineering, energy modeling or related energy efficiency industry experience.
    Knowledge of design and energy simulation software such as Revit, Energy Gauge, IES VE, HAP, TRACE.

    PE License preferred.

    Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) with the Association of Energy Engineers is preferred.

    LEED AP with specialty is a plus.
