    Description
    Job Purpose

    Repair and maintain electrical control systems along with machinery and mechanical equipment including motors, pneumatic systems, forklifts, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies and OSHA regulations.

    Essential Functions

    • Design, build, install, and test machinery control systems and upgrades
    • Maintain all PLC programs and backups to prevent catastrophic failures
    • Maintain and diagnose all HVAC system malfunctions
    • Network production machinery to SCADA Vlan to receive production data
    • Program and maintain SCADA network using Factorytalk Historian and Vantagepoint software
    • Add new building electrical systems as needed; install breakers, conduit, transformers, panels, etc.
    • Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with packaging/processing equipment (e.g., wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives)
    • Maintain all current electrical systems and keep up to code
    • Install new ethernet cables and maintain current LAN systems
    • Complete root cause analysis on all frequent failures and implement a functional solution to correct issues
    • Assist with continuous improvement and offer automation support
    • Report food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel
    • Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
    Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

    • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in a technical or engineering field
    • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
    • 2 years of PLC programming experience
    • Thorough understanding of electrical theory and mechanical operations
    • Ability to ensure processes, construction, installation, PLC/HMI programming, and operational requirements meet specifications, codes, and end-user expectations
    • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical failure vs programming failure
    • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
    • Ability to receive and retain instructional information
    • Familiarity with lockout/tagout
    • Strong general computer skills including familiarity with MS Office and ability to learn proprietary software quickly and accurately
    • Strong communication skills including the ability to listen, explain, and facilitate
    • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of thoroughness and accuracy
    • Ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and work effectively under demanding deadlines
